The Mississauga Senators are proud to announce that Jack Ivankovic has been selected as the player of the month for November. This is Ivankovic’s fourth year with the Senators beginning all the way back in Minor Atom. Ivankovic is currently playing as a goaltender on the Peewee team who currently have a 15-6-5 record.
Ivankovic is a goaltender that plays with passion and consistently shows dedication and hard work on and off the ice. Some of Ivankovic’s favourite memories with the Senators come from playing in an outdoor tournament in Buffalo. He never fails to work hard at practice and enjoys being at the rink and having fun with his teammates and coaches. Ivankovic also recognizes the importance of working with younger hockey players and volunteered last summer at the Crease Goaltending Academy working with new beginner goalies.
Head Coach Lucky DeGrazia says, “this is my first season coaching Jack and he has proven himself to be one of the top goalies in the age group. He is extremely athletic, and he sees the development of plays very well which allows him to anticipate effectively. What also makes Jack such a great talent is that he is a great teammate. Emotionally Jack is very level, he doesn’t allow the failures to overwhelm him. This level headedness keeps Jack in a good place through the ups and downs of the season”.
As the team prepares the final stretch of the regular season, Ivankovic is looking forward to keeping up their team’s hard work and good play as they near playoffs. The Senators currently have 35 points and sit behind the Toronto Jr. Canadiens and Toronto Marlboros in the standings.
The Mississauga Senators would like to extend their congratulations to Jack on being recognized for all of his hard work, dedication, and good sportsmanship over the past four years in the organization. Keep up the #SENSational work.
